Following last year’s successful ACSI accreditation, IAB was visited this month by an accreditation team from WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and NCCT (National Council for Curriculum and Textbooks). The combined WASC/NCCT accreditation process started immediately following the ACSI decision and has involved the overwhelming majority of IAB’s faculty and staff. More than simply a validation of a school’s performance, accreditation serves to help the school highlight areas of strength and needed improvement. Every area of the school came under scrutiny during the self-study that was performed prior to the visit, from curriculum to school finances.
A decision on accreditation will not be made until the WASC and NCCT accreditation commissions meet over the next few months, but visitors from both organizations had many positive comments about the school. |
