Admissions Procedures

To apply for enrollment, please submit the following:
•   The completed Admissions Application form.
•   A passport size photo of the student.
•   A copy each of the picture and visa page of the student’s and both parents’ passports.
•   The completed Medical Questionnaire & Emergency Medical Release form.
•   A copy of two years of student records from the current school plus copies of any special testing   have been performed on the student.
•   For applicants of Grade 2 and above,an IAB Recommendation Form completed by the current school teacher. Please ask teacher to fax directly to 8610-6430-1208 or mail directly to IAB main office in Lido.
•   A RMB1620 non-refundable Registration Fee, payable in cash.

Send the application package to the Admissions Office.
•   After the above Application package is received, the student will be placed on our Registration waiting list.
•   Please call the office to schedule a testing date and/or interview with the Admissions Director.
•   No enrollment decision can be made until current school records are received.
•   A student who enters IAB from a school with a different school calendar (i.e. March to February, or January to November vs. August to June) will be placed in the grade he/she is currently attending; or in the grade which he/she has just completed if the entrance is after November 1st.
•   If the student enters IAB after the start of the school year, there may be a 2-day teacher notification period from the time testing results are announced to the student’s first day of school.
•   Students applying to IAB are required to take a test to assess their proficiency in the English Language. Those students who are not proficient in English will be assigned ESL instruction and there is an extra fee attached to the tuition. A limited number of ESL students are admitted to each class.
•   An invoice will be sent to the parent after the student has been accepted.

Admission Criteria
The admission decision is made by the Admissions Committee which is comprised of teachers, the Headmaster, and the Admissions Director.
The decision will be based on the following criteria:
Age of student
Testing results
Quality of the essay written in the test (Grades 2 and above)
Availability of space
Beginning age for Kindergarten is 5 years old and for Grade One is 6 years old.( as of October 1st of the academic year)
