Bellamy Tang
President
Born and raised in Hong Kong, the idea of continuing my academic career in Beijing, China never crossed my mind. Yet at the age of fourteen, God gave me an opportunity and has sent me and my family to the capital of the fastest growing country in the world. In the past four years at IAB, I have participated in many different school-related-activities. I enjoyed being a part of various sports teams, worship band, as well as the Student Council in my sophomore year. It was not until my junior year that I discovered my true qualities as a leader. As the captain of both the volleyball team and the basketball team, I led the teams to victories and was a part of teams that eventually claimed three championship trophies in two sports, all in one year. Also, being the assistant coach for the Middle School girls volleyball team and the Middle School guys basketball team helped me develop the leadership skills I needed to lead a school that consist of both High School and Middle School students. In my senior year, as the President of the Student Council, I, Bellamy Tang, will be fully committed to ensure the welfare of the student body and to make sure the students' voices are heard.

Joshua You
Vice-President

Growing up I never knew that I would become a leader of any kind.  I've always wanted to become a person that can impact many lives.  Now, IAB has given me the chance to reach out to other students and help me understand who I am and what kind of person I can become. My name is Joshua You; I was born in Los Angeles, California. I came to China, in the year 2003 and went to a Chinese school for the first three years of my new life in Beijing. After changing schools to IAB, I participated in various sports teams, after school activates, and also worship band. All of these have really helped me to become who I am now. I want to thank IAB for giving me this great opportunity to serve as Vice President, and to help IAB to grow to become a much greater school than what it already is today.

Juyoung Kim
Treasurer
Members of the student council, the representatives of the students, are one of the most important people at school. However, I fearlessly dared myself to go on such an adventure- joining the student council.  I, Juyoung Kim, am the current treasurer of IABs Student Council. I was born in Korea and spent almost 13 years there. Then in 2007, which was 3 years ago now, I came to Beijing, a  foreign land. It was a completely new place for me, and the only thing that I could rely on was my friends at IAB. The prime reason of my being able to adapt well and become the treasurer was mostly because of my friends. Now I want to deliver their thoughts and represent them as a member of the Student Council. I have been the class representative several times when I was in Korea, and I was always interested in student council. I am ready to do the tasks put in front of me. I will try- no, I will- complete my task faithfully.

Sarah Tang

Secretary

Name, Sarah Tang; nationality, Hong Kong/ USA; grade level, Junior ; and Secretary of the Student Council, these are only hard facts about me, but I would like my schoolmates, teachers, and parents reading this to know me a little more than just that information, I would like to tell you who I really am. I will start by telling you the reason why I wanted to be Secretary. After being in IAB and in Beijing for four years since 7th grade, it became normal that I am one of the students who supposedly knows everything about IAB. However, no matter how long I have been here, I feel like I am learning something new about this school every day. IAB might be considered a relatively small school, but there is more than it appears to have. That is why I chose to be involved with Student council, it is the best way to learn about how IAB works and functions in a new perspective I have never been in before. Although this is my first year in Student Council, I have already learned a lot through being in my position, things like organization was my weakness before but now I am learning through the meetings, about note taking, arranging the bulletin board, etc. Being in this council brought me new skills but it also brought me closer to other students I have never even talked to before. I cannot wait for more unexpected gifts from the council.

Other than Student Council, I am also involved with the school worship band, photography club, and prayer group. Out of school, I am with my youth group's worship band and I teach migrant children in Beijing, English twice a month. All these things that I am part of are all the things I love, I love music, photography, hanging out with my friends and meeting new people.  For the next two years of my high school journey, Student Council will be a place for me to learn, grow, and connect with my schoolmates and many unexpected things I am yet to find out.
