Counselor's Corner

For information on our Counseling and Guidance Services, you've come to the right place.  Our High School Guidance services are outlined below below the following introduction:

The role of Guidance Services at IAB is to support students, addressing any issues or concerns that could be beneficial to students or that might interfere with a student's academic performance.

Guidance Services also support teachers, parents, and school staff as they work with students.

Sometimes, students need extra support to deal with problems related to their academic progress, classroom behavior, relationships with peers, or life stressors.  Our guidance counselor sees students individually and in small groups.  Students can ask to meet the counselor, or they may be referred by a teacher, parent, or the principal.

Classroom guidance lessons are designed to help students develop a better understanding of themselves, improve their relationships with others, learn effective study skills, and explore career possibilities.  Guidance regarding high school course selection, and university requirements and applications is provided for all high school students.

Mrs. Alison Wong is the Guidance Counselor at IAB.  She has a Master's degree in Counseling, and is a Canadian Certified Counselor with the Canadian Counseling Association.

If you would like to make an appointment with Mrs. Wong, please feel free to contact her.
